I am 25 years old. I applied for a learnership at Lulaway, which opened doors for me in banking. In 2021, I completed my learnership at FNB. In 2022, the bank offered me a position in the Eastern Cape as a Query Clerk for a year. I then moved to a role in Balancing, and I am currently working as a temp in the SSD Customer Engagement team at FNB. Reflecting on how I started feels almost unreal, as I had little hope, but small steps truly make a big difference. All thanks to Lulaway for their support.
We recruited 2,400 interns/learners (800 per year over 3 years), handled the advertising of positions, and managed automated response processing through a customized system for Bank SETA. The project also involved conducting customized digital assessments, performing criminal and credit checks via HURU, and providing detailed reporting on all selected interns/learners to ensure full transparency and accountability throughout the process.
