The new job comes with excitement and a bit of anxiety all at the same time.Quincy Mahlangu (22) from Marshall town ,Joburg ,just started working as a multi-media journalist at The Peoples Paper.He said those going to their first job,the best thing to do is to ask relevant questions,especially if you're not sure about what you are tasked to do.
Lulaway Holdings head of recruitment ,Londiwe Luthuli ,said whether you have just landed your first job,or not the new year is a great time to set goals and develop the right framework to succeed at work.
"Attitude is everything,Employers want to hire and work with someone who is energetic , enthusiastic and happy.
Lindiwe said those who require micro-management become a burden to a company because they need constant watching and monitoring.
Many people find it hard to stay motivated."The first thing is to define your goals clearly."

Write out a weekly schedule and fit in all your daily tasks.Being organised and managing your time well is a key skill.
Dont be afraid to ask questions.It doesnt show ignorance .Instead ,it shows a desire to improve and learn more.
A strong work ethic shows you take your job and the organisation's priorities seriously.Its all about quality ,commitment and diligence.
Occasionally ,be willing to stay late or come in early if the company requires it.Volunteer for other jobs as well as projects whenever and wherever you can.
